For some, the idea of inclusivity is tantamount to oppression.

For those who come from misrepresented and marginalized groups, keep these powerful words in mind. We are not the caricatures the mass media promotes. Normative beliefs are just that - traditional ideas that continue to be observed uncritically. Let's challenge these attitudes.

This is why a more inclusive understanding of humanism is so important. We can't only address the adverse effects of religious hegemony when there are a host of other social ills that aren't fueled by religiosity.

For too many alleged skeptics and so-called critical thinkers put stock in the belief that "ending" religion will somehow cure issues like queer-antagonism, sexism, racism, and misogyny.

Clearly, atheism doesn't preclude magical thinking...
